§ 2.40.040. Advisory board—Members—Terms.

A.

On October 1, 2010, the cultural affairs advisory board, the El Paso Museum of Art advisory board, the El Paso Museum of History advisory board and the El Paso Museum of Archaeology advisory board shall sunset, and the terms of all such board members shall expire.

B.

The members of the museums and cultural affairs advisory board will serve staggered terms that will coincide with their appointing city council member. The museums and cultural affairs advisory board members may not serve more than two consecutive terms. The initial terms of the members nominated by the mayor and the district representatives from Districts 2, 3, 4 and 7 shall run from October 1, 2010 through October 1, 2013. The initial terms of the members nominated by the district representatives from Districts 1, 5, 6 and 8 shall run from October 1, 2010 through October 1, 2011. Thereafter, all terms shall be four years, except for appointments made to fill vacancies occurring during any term, which shall be for the remainder of the unexpired term.
