§ 5.13.140. Proper alarm system operation and maintenance

  • A.

    A permit holder or other person in control of an alarm system or premises in which an alarm system is operated:

    1.

    Shall maintain premises containing an alarm system in a manner that insures proper operation of the alarm system;

    2.

    Shall maintain the alarm system in a manner that will minimize false alarm notifications;

    3.

    Shall not manually activate an alarm for any reason other than for an occurrence of an event as set forth in Section 5.13.010 A. of this chapter.

    B.

    A permit holder or person in control of an alarm system shall adjust the mechanism or cause the mechanism to be adjusted so that an alarm audible on the exterior of the alarm site will be actuated for no longer than ten minutes after being activated. It shall be a violation for an alarm signal to sound at an alarm site continuously for more than fifteen minutes.
