As used in this chapter, the following terms mean:

"Hotel" means a building or part of a building, in which four or more rooms are offered as sleeping accommodations to transient persons for compensation.

    2.

"Lodginghouse" means any building or part of a building where four or more rooms, or eight or more beds, whichever accommodates the smaller number of persons, are offered at any one time as lodgings for compensation, whether with or without meals, except hotels, tourist courts and motels, and except light housekeeping rooms where bedclothes are not furnished.

    3.

"Lodginghouse for persons of unsound mind" means any place at which lodging is furnished to two or more persons of unsound mind, not members of the family of the person furnishing such lodging, whether or not the persons of unsound mind have been judicially determined to be such.

    4.

"Tourist court" or "motel" means a place at which sleeping accommodations in three or more cottages, rooms or separate buildings, with parking facilities on the same premises, or on other premises adjacent thereto, are offered for compensation for transients traveling by motor vehicle.

    B.

Definitions in subsections (A)(1) and (A)(5) of this section shall also include any other establishment (except a hospital) which offers sleeping accommodations for compensation, if it uses in its name or advertising the words "hotel," "motel," "tourist court," "tourist rooms" or other words of similar meanings reasonably indicating that it solicits transient trade.

Definitions in subsections (A)(1) and (A)(5) of this section do not include or apply to trailer courts, lodginghouses, or similar places which are otherwise defined herein or regulated by other ordinances, and such other ordinances are kept in effect; provided, places which fall within the definition of a hotel as set forth in this section or use the word "hotel" as set forth in subsection A of this section shall be covered by such definition and regulations thereof and not by the lodginghouse definition contained in subsection (A)(2) of this section or the regulations thereof although they fall within the definition of lodginghouse also.
