§ 12.80.150. Storing vehicles in streets.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for the person in charge of any vehicle to store such vehicle upon the streets, alleys or other rights-of-way of the city. A vehicle is presumed stored if it has remained parked upon any street, alley or other right-of-way at or near the same location for a continuous period of time in excess of five days. Members of the police department and authorized employees operating city towing equipment are authorized to remove and impound any vehicle stored in violation of this section.

    B.

    When a vehicle is removed or impounded under the authority of this section, the vehicle shall be removed or impounded in accordance with the provisions of Section 12.08.220 of this code. A person whose vehicle has been removed or impounded under authority of this section may request a hearing as provided in Section 12.08.220 of this code.
